Count Zeppelin - The father of Corporate Social Responsibility

Count Zeppelin was a visionary in many different respects – not least as a human being with a passion for the common good. He expressed his gratitude for the generous donations of the German people – which enabled Zeppelin to continue building airships – by establishing the Zeppelin Foundation in 1908. His shares in the company flowed into this foundation, which still owns the Zeppelin group today. The idea that entrepreneurial spirit must go hand in hand with a commitment to the welfare of society has been firmly anchored in our corporate culture right from these early beginnings.

Zeppelin today – a group that lives and breathes responsibility

We at Zeppelin feel our success in business brings obligations with it. Acting sustainably secures the future of our society. Zeppelin is not motivated by short-term gains, but by creating lasting value for staff, customers, suppliers and shareholders. Our actions are founded on integrity and excellence. They reflect our understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility – as it is set down in our Code of Conduct. Ten rules bear testimony to our sense of responsibility for the economy, the environment and society. Our status as a foundation-owned business compels our staff to uphold the principles of sustainability in their day-to-day work.
