The Zeppelin Group

With its 6000-plus workforce at 190 locations worldwide, the Zeppelin Group achieves annual sales volume of some €1.8 billion. In strategic terms this dynamic growth derives from total dedication to our customers, combined with groundbreaking innovations in construction machine and engine technology as well as bulk solids handling technology – plus a systems philosophy by which we offer business excellence for our customers from one source.

Over the last 15 years, we have also expanded and internationalized the Zeppelin Group. We have remained so committed to this growth strategy not least because we had to overcome the boundaries of our markets in order to sustain our position in ever tougher competitive environments. Since 2001 Zeppelin has subjected itself to an annual external rating by Creditreform Rating AG, Neuss. In 2009 we were awarded the rating ‘A-’.

Zeppelin Trading

The business activities of the Zeppelin trading division, directed from the Group’s main office in Garching, near Munich, comprise sales, service and rental of Caterpillar construction machines and diesel engines as well as MaK marine engines, Terex mining equipment and Hyster lift trucks. Zeppelin is the exclusive distribution partner of Caterpillar Inc., Peoria (IL/USA), in Germany and Austria, in numerous countries of Central and Eastern Europe and of Central Asia. The sales territory for lift trucks and warehouse vehicles is in part the same. In this segment Zeppelin is distributor of the Hysterbrand equipment of the US-American manufacturer NACCO Materials Handling, Mayfield Heights (OH/USA). In addition, Zeppelin sells a variety of components and attachments plus New Holland and AGCO agricultural equipment, as well as forestry equipment made by Ponsse in some countries and regions. Under the direction of Zeppelin Power Systems GmbH & Co. KG, we are also developing sales and service of the wind-powered marine propulsion systems designed and made by the company SkySails. Today Zeppelin is Europe's largest sales, service and rental organization in the construction machine industry, and one of the largest in the world.
