Lively exchange - industrial engines workshop offered informative presentations and hands-on technology

What's new at Caterpillar and Zeppelin Power Systems? How is engine technology developing? And what has to be consideres, for example, when an emission certified engine is to be sold in unregulated countries? In early October 2015 the industrial engines workshop of Zeppelin Power Systems addressed these and other questions and topics. Around 70 customer representatives, including many leading machine manufacturers (OEM) in the construction industry, agriculture, forestry, logistics, manufacturing, the recycling industry and special non-road applications, accepted the invitation to the workshop at Zeppelin Power Systems in Achim near Bremen.

Comprehensive overview of the portfolio of Zeppelin Power Systems

The sales and engineering teams of the business division industrial applications gave in their presentations comprehensive overview about the portfolio of Zeppelin Power Systems and  information about engine types, innovations, emission regulations, drive-train solutions and migration strategies for used engines. In future, the company is going to focus even more on the engineering of complete packages and engine-transmission units (drive-trains).

"We are pleased about the great interest for our workshop and the opportunity to discuss the market`s latest developments with our customers," says Dirk Weber, Sales Director Industrial Engines & Rail, Drive-trains. "It is particularly important for us to be in constant dialogue with the OEM. By feedback of our customers we get valuable suggestions, and can thus implement their wishes and requirements better."
 

Tailor-made service and maintenance concepts

The service team of Zeppelin Power Systems provided information on customized overhaul and maintenance concepts with detailed documentation for the prevention and early detection, to provide reliable operation and high availability of the machines. Participants of the workshop were also presented Cat Product Link. Cat Product link is offers a remote monitoring to ensure optimal maintenance. In addition, Cat Product Link helping to optimize working operations and site management (job site solutions). For new engines Cat customers are offered an extended service coverage as a follow-protection after the regular warranty. Another new feature is the overhaul protection coverage for used engines.
 

Hands-on technology: Oil sampling at Cat C13

In the afternoon Zeppelin Power Systems offered hands-on technology, demonstrating the collection of oil samples on a running engine, a Cat C13 tier 4 final. Numerous engines and generators for industrial applications were on display, allowing vivid discussions. In a subsequent tour through the halls for the fitting of new engines, the repair workshops, as well as the engine test rig, the customers could get an overview of the power and versatility of Zeppelin Power Systems as business and service partner.
