Zeppelin Systems offers complete solutions for the food industry

03.04.2023

Rödermark, April 3, 2023.  As an integrated solution provider and experienced engineering partner, Zeppelin Systems has been supporting countless customers in the food industry for many years. Efficient, reliable processes and reproducible quality on an industrial scale are integral to the system manufacturer’s promise to its customers. At the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf, Zeppelin Systems will be presenting further components of its comprehensive portfolio, including state-of-the-art system technology for the food industry. The fair will be held May 4 to 10, 2023.

With Zeppelin Systems components, customers from the food industry can store, discharge, convey, process, weigh, dose, humidify and process products on an individually configured basis. In addition to basic engineering, the extended range of services also includes assembly, production optimization, predictive maintenance and a comprehensive training program – conducted on site or virtually. “For us, the optimal complete solution for the customer is always the focus of every project,” says Josef Art, Vice President of Food & Recycling Plants at Zeppelin Systems. “In line with our customer promise We Create Solutions, we supply everything from one source over the entire life cycle of the system,” adds Zeppelin Systems CEO Dr. Markus Vöge. After the long break from the trade show due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the international Interpack trade fair is an absolute industry highlight for the equipment manufacturer. Zeppelin Systems will be presenting solutions for the bakery, confectionery and pet food industries in Hall 4, Stand 35, with around 1300 square feet of exhibition space. The experienced system builder will also cover the topics of starch and proteins.

Perfect dosing
One example of know-how in the food sector is the Codos continuous mixing and kneading system from Zeppelin Systems. Consisting of three components, the system combines dosing liquids, dosing solids, and a continuous production of dough. The system therefore achieves consistent dough quality and optimal results at all times. This allows customers to use a fully automated kneading system.

Special hydration
The hydration system DymoMix (dynamic moisture mixing system) serves as a premixer in the Codos system to provide a supplementary production step: By hydrating powdered components with water or oil, a homogeneous dough mixture is formed. Thanks to a special process, a high-quality dough is produced even at low moisture contents, which can either be further processed without intermediate steps or "kneaded out" in the Codos kneader. This means fully automated, profitable time savings for Zeppelin Systems customers.

Efficient kneading
The horizontal, continuous Codos NT kneader supports the bakery industry in producing dough. The clever kneading system combines the conditioning of the raw materials with the kneading process. The kneader provides uniform distribution of liquid and energy input, as well as maintaining a predetermined temperature. It can be quickly adapted to different performance requirements. In addition, it is easy to clean – an important aspect in the food industry and once again an advantage for Zeppelin Systems customers.

Gentle conveying
Zeppelin Systems has been a technology leader in gentle pneumatic conveying of bulk materials for many years. Dense-Tec dense flow conveying enables bulk material to be conveyed without destroying the structure of the products. Pet food manufacturers particularly appreciate this range of services offered by the system manufacturer.

Precise dosing and weighing
Zeppelin Systems has developed manual and customized, automated solutions specifically for small components. From batch weighing to differential dosing scales including a control system, the system manufacturer offers exactly the right solution depending on the customer's requirements. Zeppelin offers gravimetrically working systems with mass flowmeters for handling liquids.

Increase efficiency and effectiveness
Energy efficiency and effectiveness play an important role in the food industry, especially when it comes to large systems with a higher conveying capacity. Zeppelin Systems replaces mechanical conveyors with pneumatic ones because they are faster and more efficient. They also save energy, can handle longer distances and require less maintenance.

Automation and digitization solutions made by Zeppelin Systems
In the food industry, systems are becoming ever larger and more complex, and production sites are often distributed worldwide. Zeppelin Systems presents corresponding automation and digitalization solutions for this purpose, which are known collectively as NAMiQ. The recipe and batch management software 'NAMiQ recipe', for example, enables operators to plan and control production in a fully automated way. Another module called 'NAMiQ analytics' offers various dashboards to present and evaluate processes in a significant way. For example, customers can analyze the causes of failure and continuously optimize system availability. The NAMiQ sustainability module is available to system operators who value sustainable processes. This digital service includes various dashboards and displays the electricity, compressed air and water consumption of systems.

In a nutshell, Zeppelin Systems accompanies almost every processing stage in the food industry as an engineering partner and offers the right system solution for every customer challenge. The system manufacturer integrates drying and coating processes, as well as systems for dust removal and temperature control, quality assurance measures, and concepts for explosion protection.
