Alexander Wassermann takes over as Head of the Zeppelin Group’s Plant Engineering strategic business unit. Axel Kiefer leaves the company at his own request
Garching near Munich/Friedrichshafen, June 24, 2019. On July 1, 2019, Alexander Wassermann (53) will take over the position of Chair of the Management Board at Zeppelin Systems GmbH, and in doing so will also become Head of the Zeppelin Group’s Plant Engineering strategic business unit (SBU). He succeeds Axel Kiefer, who is set to leave the Zeppelin Group at his own request on June 30, 2019.
Alexander Wassermann holds a degree in Process Engineering, and has many years of international experience in plant engineering and the management of autonomous business sectors. In recent years he has taken on a Managing Director role in various companies, including the Voith technology group. Over his many years of working with major corporate enterprises, Mr. Wassermann has acquired a vast wealth of technical and product expertise, as well as being highly knowledgeable when it comes to the changing needs and trends of the global plant engineering market. He has excellent connections within the industry, including close links to the region. Mr. Wassermann is married with four children. The Management Board of the Zeppelin Group and the entire workforce wish him every success in his new role.
Mr. Axel Kiefer, Head of the Plant Engineering SBU since April 1, 2015, opted not to extend his Management Board contract after it expired, and he will leave the company effective from June 30, 2019.
Having spent more than four years in the role, Axel Kiefer initiated and launched numerous projects to help develop the business unit. The Zeppelin Group is sad to see Mr. Kiefer depart and wishes him all the best for the future.
