Caterpillar has expanded its portfolio by purchasing Berg Propulsion, a Swedish company with a long history.

The variable-pitch propellers, azimuth thrusters, bow thrusts, and control systems made by Berg Propulsion will now be sold under the Caterpillar brand. This means that Power Systems will be offering its customers not only engines and generators, but also complete drive packages for marine applications and customized services from a one-stop shop.
