Zeppelin Group to present its work at the Long Night of Technology & Innovation

Friedrichshafen, May 13, 2019. For a third time, the Zeppelin Group will open its doors to the public at the Long Night of Technology & Innovation event in Friedrichshafen.On Friday, May 17, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., companies, educational institutions, and museums throughout the city will be showcasing the newest ideas and the products of tomorrow,

and the Friedrichshafen Zeppelin Plant Engineering site at Graf-Zeppelin-Platz 1 is joining in too: Visitors will enjoy a fantastic evening program from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring activities and information relating to the Zeppelin Group. There will be tours through the production halls, during which innovations and developments will be presented – such as the new FSW (friction stir welding) system. Unlike conventional welding methods, the new FSW system makes it possible to weld individual silo segments with no need for welding rods and shielding gas, harnessing an innovative technology known as friction stir welding.

Interested visitors will also find plenty of detailed information on the subject of recycling and plastics, an area in which the Zeppelin Group has been setting new benchmarks over many years, including as a regular trade fair exhibitor presenting the latest trends. The Rental, Construction Equipment EU and Z LAB strategic business units will also be represented by means of information stands at the Zeppelin Plant Engineering site. Students and graduates will also have the chance to find out about the many career and training opportunities at Zeppelin.

As well as a great deal of information, there will also be prizes on offer: A breathtaking flight in a Zeppelin over Friedrichshafen is the star prize, for various hands-on competitions and activities including an interactive rally, an excavator game, and a bulk materials quiz. The flight is sponsored by Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei.Younger visitors can also enjoy fun and games at the Long Night of Technology, in the Zeppelin children’s play area.

A food truck will be on hand to keep guests well supplied throughout the evening with homemade burgers, fries, and hot sausages.
