Zeppelin Group bundles energy business in new company
- Focus on reliable, flexible and decentralized energy supply
- Integrated solutions for energy generation, storage and energy management
- Response to growing requirements in energy infrastructure
The Zeppelin Group is further expanding its activities in the energy sector and will bring together its expertise in decentralized energy solutions within Zeppelin Energy Solutions GmbH. With the new company, the Group is responding to a fundamental transformation of the energy landscape and growing demands for reliability, flexibility and economic efficiency.
This development is being driven by limited grid capacity, rising energy costs, the expansion of renewable energy and the increasing electrification of industry and mobility. At the same time, reliable energy supply and resilient infrastruc-ture are becoming increasingly critical. These developments present businesses with new challenges, but also create opportunities: decentralized, flexible and intelligently managed energy systems can help reduce costs, make more efficient use of available grid capacity, strengthen security of supply and unlock additional economic potential from energy infrastructure.
“Energy has become a strategic issue in many respects, both for businesses and public-sector organizations. Reliable and high-performing energy supply is a key prerequisite for competitiveness and societal security,” says Matthias Benz, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of the Zeppelin Group. “With Zeppelin Energy Solutions, we are therefore making targeted investments in a market where we see strong demand and, as a result, opportunities for sustainable growth.”
Against this backdrop, the Zeppelin Group is further strengthening its position as a systems integrator for decentralized energy systems. Zeppelin Energy Solutions designs and delivers integrated energy solutions. The company combines, for example, local energy generation, energy storage and charging infrastructure and connects them through intelligent energy management systems to create high-performing energy systems. Zeppelin Energy Solutions supports customers across the entire value chain, from analysis and planning through engineering and implementation to commissioning and service. The company draws on longstanding experience and established activities in decentralized energy systems from Zeppelin Power Systems. Complemented by the expertise of Zeppelin Rental and Zeppelin Energy Rental, these capabilities will now be brought together within Zeppelin Energy Solutions, further developed and complemented by investments in new technologies and capabilities. At the same time, Zeppelin Energy Solutions works closely with Zeppelin Power Systems: its established product and technology expertise, including enginebased energy systems, combined heat and power, heat pumps and fuel cells, contributes to the integrated solutions offered by Zeppelin Energy Solutions.
“Customers today do not need more individual components. They need systems that perform reliably, make economic sense and open up new opportunities for flexibility and value creation,” says Michael Hierholzer, Managing Director of Zeppelin Energy Solutions GmbH. “This is exactly where we come in: we start with the customer’s specific requirements and bring together the right technologies and capabilities to create a tailored solution that reduces complexity and delivers measurable value.”
Zeppelin Energy Solutions will initially focus on customers in Germany and the Netherlands. These include commercial and industrial customers, utilities and infrastructure operators, as well as project developers.
